MFMR programme coordinator gives overview over Financial Inclusion strategies at SANABEL conference

On July 3rd SANABEL has successfully held a three-day National Microfinance Networks Workshop in Lebanon, under the title of “Developing of Microfinance Sector through National Microfinance Networks in Arab Countries: Approaches to improving strategic and business planning” with the support of MFMR. The MFMR programme coordinator, Mr. Johannes Majewski, has given an overview on the financial inclusion strategy in the MENA region and GIZ future activities by tackling the importance and current situation of financial inclusion in the MENA region as well as major current challenges facing the devising of such a strategy and their potential solutions. This workshop has been organized with the aim of supporting and improving National Microfinance Networks activities, capacity building, strategic and business planning skills as well as sharing national networks good practices and lessons learned. The event targeted primarily the national microfinance networks of the MENA region. Donors, partners supporting microfinance sector in MENA countries, world bank, GCAP and AFC representatives, and other network specialists have been aslo actively involved.
