Amman – The Central Bank of Jordan, the Arab Monetary Fund and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) are partnering to enable peer learning in the space of “Financial Inclusion and Employment in the Arab Region.” On November 10-11, 2015, more than 120 policymakers and other leaders from the Arab region and beyond gathered in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to deepen the dialogue on improving the financial and occupational perspectives of enterprises and households.

The conference furthermore higlighted:

  • The Central Bank of Jordan announcing the development of the financial inclusion strategy for Jordan
  • The AMF and GIZ signing a MoU to jointly assist Arab partner governments in their change processes towards more inclusive financial sectors
  • A one day training on developing financial inclusion strategies organized by members of the Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI)

The hosts have joined forces with the European Union, AFI and the Consultative Group to Assist the Poor (CGAP) to realise this event.
